Flea Market Style

I don't know about you but I'm really glad it TGIF!!! It's been a busy week at work and I left early to meet the garage man but he changed our appointment to 7:30 in the morning. It gave me a chance to run to the grocery store early and I'll have time to read my new magazine tonight.

It has lots and lots of ideas and since I'm going to the antique market tomorrow I thought I may get some good ideas for "I can't live without" items. Like I need anymore!!! It has a list of 10 things never to pass up. I plan on reading it after dinner and dishes.
I just visited a new blog thanks to Fairbees and she is having a garden party!! I thought it would be fun to join in. I posted the Party invitation on my sidebar too. Gee I'm learning so much this week. Cielo site is The House in the Roses. Isn't that a cool name? I just love it. I added her to my sidebar because I don't know how to put the connection in my post. I guess I'll have to learn that next. Now all I have to do is remember to post my pictures on the 21st.
Have a great evening and weekend.

Bailey's Equal Time

Hi everybody...my name is Bailey. Since my Mom was really playing favorites last night and posting a picture of "LITTLE MISS PRECIOUS ANNA" with our garden I figured I deserved equal time tonight. This is my favorite sleeping position and place..well actually most anywhere I sleep is my favorite spot and my favorite way of sleeping. Depending on my mood, of course!!! I know I am totally cute and I hope you enjoy my picture.

My Mom wants to blog too (whatever that is....you humans really do strange things) so I told her she could use some of my space. She really enjoys doing this silly thing and reading all your comments. I think she has finished the dishes so she is kicking me off the computer. She wants to show you a picture of her new car. Oh whoops, I spoiled her surprise...Oh Well!! (you humans get excited about really weird things too!!)

Good Evening everyone. I hope Bailey didn't drive you crazy posting his little comments. He can be such a pain, but lovable.

I went today to get license plates/title for my new car. They weren't as pricey as I expected which is a good thing. I have had my car for about 6 weeks now and it's got over a 1000 miles on it, mostly city driving back and forth to work. I'm probably averaging 30 mpg which is a good thing too. It is a Nissan Versa Hatchback and I am really enjoying it.

My daughter is out tonight so I raided the frig and had leftovers for dinner so it's been an easy night. It didn't start off that way though. I got home and couldn't open my garage with the opener. So I went to buy batteries...still no open up!! Thank goodness I have one of those boxes you punch a code into or my poor car would be sitting outside all night. I called the guy who put in the new system last winter and he said my remote probably lost it's code??? So he is coming tomorrow afternoon/evening to fix it. No big deal probably, just a pain.

I want to let everyone know how much I appreciate your comments. I have enjoyed reading them so very much. I owe a special thank you to Anna for introducing us. I am going to try to answer those that I can and those that I can't please know how much I appreciate you. I love the Anonymous comment from Westminster. Have you ever gone to the Paris Street Market at Aspen Grove? It is really fun!!! I'm sure you would enjoy it. My friend Jan will be at an antique show at Columbine this Saturday and yes, I'll be there. I have to pick up my necklace and earrings....I'm so excited!! I'll try to take more pics.

Have a really great evening and thank you all again for making me feel so welcome. I am so happy you are enjoying my blog.

P.S. I love you Anna. Thank you again so much.

Anna and Bailey's Garden

This is Anna and Bailey's little garden. As you can see Anna is enjoying a little catnip. (she might share with you Anna, LOL) She likes the little leaves at the bottom of the plant. You can't really see the grass growing next to it but it's there!!! Bailey likes to lay in it so it is usually leaning to one side.
I hope you are enjoying your evening.

Sunday Dinner

First of all I'd like to thank all my visitors. A special thanks to Cindy and Romantic Homes, Anna at Thimbleanna, Junie at Junie Moon, and Anonymous. A very special thank you to Crystal at Fairbees my very first commenter and receiver of a gift. Well probably not yet but it is in the mail. I hope she enjoys it as much as I did selecting it.
This was a peach cheesecake that was so easy and delicious. I found the recipe in Bon Appetit but also saw it in Martha's mag. I hope you try it. I halved it because it called for a 13x9 pan but those with families or company could make that size. It is way too much for the 2 of us.
My pork tenderloin before and after. I wrapped it in prosciutto, salt and pepper of course, browned it and threw it in the oven 400 for about 30 minutes. It was very juicy and tasty.
We also had a mashed potato casserole. I just boiled a couple of Russets, mashed with milk, added sharp cheddar and scallions. Threw it in the oven with the pork. We also had roasted asparagus that I bought at the Farmers Market on Saturday. It was so easy and everything cooked at the same time.
It was a busy busy day at work today and I've been doing laundry since I got home so now I'm taking a short break and then finish my laundry, get things ready for work tomorrow and hopefully sleep. It is really hot today 93 and I think Anna and Bailey are feeling it. They met me at the door when I got home with hugs and love and have been sleeping since. Bailey has moved from the couch to the chair but Anna is quit content sleeping on their kitty perch.
Everyone have a great tomorrow. Oh and I almost forgot. I shopped today at Foursistersinacottage.com. If you haven't visited Amy you have to check it out. She has the most amazing treasures. She is on my list of favs. My list is far from complete but I'll be adding more soon.

A Paris Street Market

Yesterday after the Cherry Creek Farmers Market I headed to A Paris Street Market at Aspen Grove. The Market is the first Saturday of the month and loads of fun. I've picked up some wonderful treasures and always look forward to going.
This is my dear friend Jan and favorite booth at the market. She travels the world bringing back treasures. She should start a blog because she would have lots of fun stories to tell. She doesn't have a website but she is thinking of getting one to sell her wonderful jewelry (which I will post about later). I get so many compliments on the jewelry I have purchased from her. I fell in love with a necklace she made yesterday and she is making me matching earrings. I'll pick them up next weekend at another flea market she will be selling her wares at. I can hardly wait. If and when she gets her website up and running I will definitely let you know so you can visit.
Isn't this plate wonderful!!! It was in a box of $10.00 or less and she gave it to me. I just love it. It is a picture of an English cottage.

Farmers Market

I went to the Farmers Market this morning and this is my favorite soap lady's booth.
Look at all the yummy lotions and soaps she makes. Here is Elizabeth the proud owner of Amber Bath. She has her own website http://www.amberbath.com/

She ships her product and is very proud of everything she makes. I started buying from her several years ago and always stock up for the winter. If I run out I just give her a call and she is always willing to meet up or deliver. A lovely lady who always makes me happy to see her. When I told her I was taking her picture she said to be sure not to use her in any of them. If she only knew what I was really going to do with them.....
I have more pictures to share but need to fix dinner. So I'm leaving you for now with these and also a fun place to visit. http://www.pamperingbeki.blogspot.com/ is having a fun giveway. I visited today for the first time and loved her jewelry. She has an Etsy shop so check that out too.
If you visit Elizabeth at Amber Bath, be sure to tell her I sent you. She would love to see you!!

My Dishes

I think I have this picture think figured out thanks to my daughter's help. I'm cleaning out cupboards washing dishes I don't use often. Two sets are my Grandmother's. The pink flower is from a set that she gave me many years ago and the yellow roses are her good china that I was lucky enough to get when she passed away. The gray rose which actually has shades of blue, green and pink is my good china that I've had for probably 40 years. Oh that makes me sound old!! My daughter was helping me clean the utility room last week and kept telling me I kept too much junk and wanted to throw things away by asking me what I needed it for. I just gave her that look!! Last night when we started the dishes I told her since I hadn't used Grandma's (her Great Grandma) dishes in a long time maybe I should just throw them away.....Well did I get a look!!!
I've had some back problems so my housework is way behind. It feels good to feel like cleaning. I've been undergoing physical therapy for the last few months and it seems to have helped. That is how I got my new job too. I guess it pays to have pain...well maybe not. It hasn't been too much fun. My doctor asked what my pain level was on a scale of 1 to 10. I said about a 15.
Hope you enjoy the pictures of all my china. Have a great weekend.
