Kosher Salt

OK I know that isn't Kosher salt but I'll get to that in a minute. I couldn't resist taking the picture this morning. Anna and Bailey were looking through the patio door really wanting out to play. A squirrel was eating their oat grass that I grow for them. He was really enjoying it too. I was getting ready to go to work when I saw them watching something and when I realized what it was I put everything down and grabbed my camera.
OK now for the Salt. Mandy from The Vintage Kitten wanted to know what Kosher Salt is so I'm showing her what the box looks like we get here. Mandy if you can't find it there, let me know and I'd be happy to send you some. Like I said in my email all the stores carry it here in the baking area with the table salt, etc. I hope this helps.

Hi Judy,
That is the cutest thing I've seen in a long time. He's got quite a treat going on there. Don't you feel like you need to wear your camera around your neck - so you'll never miss a photo op ever again?

Yum - kosher salt ;)

That kitty is so cute! Yes, we have Kosher salt here. I thought it was just for pretzels, but we are beginning to use it for many recipes now.

Hi Judy, Wow that was a quick response and with a photo too. Thanks so much for letting me know and showing me what it looks like. It has been bugging me for about a year!! Now I can sleep at night again LOL! It has the Jewish symbol on it so maybe it is a Jewish company rather than a salt only Jewish people will use. I will take a copy of the picture if you dont mind and go back to the Jewish Deli and show him. I dont think we must stock it here in the UK. From what Ms Garten says its just a less harsh tasting salt than sea salt so probably not a big difference. Thanks so much for showing me and doing a post 'just for me' I feel very honoured! Hee Hee. Speak again soon Mandy X

Don't know where you are, or where she is, but here (TX) they carry Kosher salt at WalMart.
The squirrel photo is adorable!

Funny, Joey had his little talk with a squirrel at my back door last night. I never really see them get so closed to the house.

I've switched to KOsher salt for quite some time now. I also have some sea salt for anything broth-y.
