I decided to make some Oatmeal Cookies and wanted to try Anna's recipe....so I printed it out and read through all the ingredients and decided I had everything so to the kitchen I went. Well it went downhill from there. I had to put 2 T of dark brown sugar because I didn't have enough light brown sugar, then I didn't have enough cinnamon so added some freshly grated nutmeg. Then...I got to the raisin part and not one raisin could I find. So I added chocolate chips and chopped pecans. I also made normal size cookies instead of the giant ones!! I think it 's not so bad if I eat 4 small cookies, but eating one giant cookie seems like I'm overdoing it. So I kind of made Anna's cookies but added and changed a few things beyond my control. Next time I'll try to do better.

What a yummy sounding recipe, I may have to try it this weekend. I love to change recipes around; I rarely make something the same way twice.
Thanks for visiting my blog, stop by anytime! In the winter, when I can no longer garden, I hope to have time to post more recipes, too!
I bet they are delish! I always use half dark and half light brown sugar 'cause the recipes never say which! Personally, I prefer chocolate chips over raisins. Pass a couple over here. I'll test them for you. wink wink. (But I do feel your pain. I hate it when I start a recipe and can't find the ingredients! Grrrr.)
I do that, too! So, how did 'your' cookies taste? Delicious, I bet!
Oh wow Judy they look so yummy! Ha ha, it happens to me so often that I'm determined to try a recipe and then I don't have all the ingredients. But mine normally turn out a disaster... whereas yours looks great! Now I'm hungry.
I feel peckish just looking at those cookies, thanks for popping by my blog too it started to rain once I had written that post :)
HELLO JUDY,
THEY SURE LOOK YUMMY, NEVERTHELESS!
JUST LAST WEEK I THOUGHT ABOUT TRYING THIS RECIPE FROM THE WEBITE.
AND DECIDED TO GIVE THE CAKE TO MY LOVELY NEIGBOURS, WITHOUT TRYING IT FIRST!
I HAVE FOUND OUT THROUGHT MY NEIGHBOURS CHILDREN... THAT THE CAKE DID LOOK PRETTY, BUT, DIDN`T TASTED THAT NICE! OOHPS!
I ENDED UP GOING TO MY LOCAL BAKER AND BUY A CAKE TO GIVE THEM AND APOLOGISE FOR IT!
I HAD ANOTHER LOOK AT THE RECIPE... AND THEN I REALIZED THAT I HAVE FORGOT TO ADD SUGAR TO IT! LOL
SPEAK TO YOU SOON... AND I HOPE THAT YOU HAVE A LOVELY WEEKEND!

Oh boy! They do look yummy! Everyone here LOVES Oatmeal Cookies! I think that the chocolate chips would do fine. Eating four little cookies is not too bad! :)

They look yummy, Judy! You made baking sound so easy. I follow the book to a T. I know, I know...there are tons of stuff around the house that you can use for substitute.
Have a great weekend!
Well hey Judy, at least they were still edible -- they do look divine! I've been making cookies tonight too -- My Yellow Farmhouse's Oatmeal Cranberry White Choc. -- they're great too. Also, last week, I had some of those oatmeal cookies in the freezer that I pulled out and they tasted great. Sometimes I don't like cookies after they've been frozen, but these were good. ;-)
