Yesterday was the last Farmers Market. Now I have to start buying my produce from the grocery store again. And yes, I'm whining!! I stalked up on everything that would keep for awhile. I bought extra winter squash, onions, etc. I also put some roasted chili's in the freezer for Green Chili this winter. I usually do that earlier but for some reason I just didn't get around to it. I think I have enough to last though.
You have been very patient with me in posting the last leg of our drive. With not being able to connect to the Internet last week slowed me down. I did get a lot done around here though.
This is Long's Peak again. If you look closely you can see the clouds at the top. As we drove into Estes Park we saw Elk along the side of the road. Of course we had to stop and take pictures and watch them.
These two were locking horns and making lots of noise.
Doesn't he look proud standing there?

Gosh Ive never seen an elk in real life. They look pretty scary. I wouldnt fancy a poke off one of their antlers!!! It must have been a lovely trip with all the wonderful views you have shown us. Mr K sees the odd deer when he is driving late at night, but they are very rare to see, so to be that close to the elk and be able to take a photo is amazing. Thanks for sharing such gorgeous pictures X
I would love to see one of those beside the road. I would get so excited! These are amazing pictures!
The pictures of the elk are beeauuutiful. I love animals and nature so much. We always get such joy out of seeing the deer running around everywhere when we go to Monterey. Gorgeous.
Sorry the Farmer's Market is over!

Very cool! My dd and her bf went to Estes Park this summer and only saw a chipmunk, lol!
Hi Judy,
I wish I could've been there with you seeing the mountains in the clouds and the beautiful elk too, what lovely creatures.
I am with you, I love the Farmer's Market and really miss them when I have to go to the grocery store. Luckily, we do have an organic store in town... but it's still not the same, of course! Green chili sure sounds good, hope you share that recipe... yum!
Happy night

I'm amazed, right out there in traffic! I've seen a few small deer, but never big elk like that!
The Elk is so beautiful!! That is one animal that we do not have in Africa. I saw my first elk when I was in London.
Thanks for sharing.
